These small textile studies, draw on a rich tradition of abstract textile making, and painting, stretching back to the weavers of the Bauhaus and a pioneer of abstraction, Sonja Delaunay. Whilst thinking about sustainability I consider scraps, fragments, waste and reuse. These soft, wooly constructions recall the fuzzy felt pictures of my childhood; progressing and delighting in the formal explorings and energy of materials that has become so important to my practice.
