Needle-felt appliqué and embroidery on wool blanket.
Found and reclaimed materials, wool felt, yarns and cotton embroidery threads. This work is supplied unframed. It will be stitch mounted on to acid free archival mount board ready for framing. NB: the frames in images are for photographic purposes only.

These small textile studies draw on a rich tradition of abstract textile making, and painting, stretching back to the weavers of the Bauhaus and one of the great pioneers of abstraction in textiles, Sonja Delaunay. Whilst thinking about sustainability I consider scraps, fragments, waste and reuse. These soft, wooly constructions recall the fuzzy felt pictures of my childhood; progressing and delighting in the formal explorings and energy of materials that has become so important to my practice.
